Bill PAID
Tax returns came the other day, and while they were considerably (disappointingly) less than they've been for the last two years, there was enough to pay off the vet bill we've been working on for the last three years. I let the money sit in the account overnight so I could admire all the digits, then covered the balance last night. Pete got a reminder each month as I was writing the check that he was honor-bound to stick around for a good while, and like a good dog, he listened.

And, good job to you for getting that off your plates, that has to feel great. You do make me feel slightly guilty though, I have our taxes about 80% done, just need to finish, but never have the motivation, ugh
Yeah, motivation can be hard to come by! Ours are pretty simple and we usually get something back, so there's an incentive. We'll owe city though, and what a surprise, those have not been touched :)
Blech; we don't have city taxes, but I have to file returns for two states, which is a PITA
